Dr. Kiran Kumar PK’s Approach to Mental Health Care
He has been helping people navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives — depression that refuses to lift, anxiety that will not quiet down, addictions that feel impossible to break, and thoughts that make the world feel unmanageable.
After completing his MBBS at KMC Manipal, he went on to pursue and earn his MD in Psychiatry from KMC Manipal — an experience that shaped his understanding of mental health with equal emphasis on clinical excellence, empathy, and compassionate patient care.
Before establishing PK Neuropsychiatry & Counselling Centre, he served as Chief Psychiatrist at NMPT for 15 years and at MRPL for 5 years — institutions that trusted him with the mental health of thousands of employees and their families. He was later awarded the Fellowship of the Indian Psychiatric Society (FIPS) in recognition of his services and contributions to the field of Psychiatry.
His approach is simple: listen carefully, explain clearly, and treat the whole person — not just the diagnosis. Whether it is a child struggling with attention, an adult battling sleepless nights, or a family dealing with a loved one’s addiction, he brings the same steady, judgement-free presence to every consultation.
